The Single Cell series comprises the three ranges of high, medium and low rate discharge. Many nickel-cadmium batteries are used in stationary standbypower applications where discharges occur infrequently and the battery is continuously charged by a float or constant potentialcharge. Under these circumstances there is a modification in thelevel of the discharge curve and allowances must be made forthis when dimensioning the battery. In order to simplify thisprocess, the data SUNLIGHT supplies in this publication has boththe fully charged data to IEC 623 and the fully charged data afterprolonged float charge, which can be used directly to perform thebattery calculation.
